Getting bills paid, buying groceries for home, going to the post office to check our P.O. Box, to having doctor appointments via video calls. That's what life has been like for us since August pretty much started. We haven't been able to do anything fun as a family since. We've been also having our homeschooling days, days at home of laundry and household chores. Managing livestreams on days at home when we can. Yesterday was one of them days where we needed to go to CVS to go and pick up a couple of things for Logan that he needed and we also needed to go to the post office.
With this new normal that we're living in, I came to this realization that I should have come to earlier in the year. Which is that it's the little things that can make me happy and that Logan is also realizing this as well. Let me explain.
We went to the post office yesterday to pick up Logan's package. He ordered 2 mini LEGO sets from https://www.brickmania.com/ which arrived within about 5 or less days of us ordering it. Logan has always been the type who the littlest things that he gets makes him happy. Logan was so happy to get these little sets (especially getting them so quickly) that all he wanted to do was go back home so he could put them together. Below is a picture of the 2 sets that Logan got.
After CVS, we went to the Starbucks that was right across the parking lot from CVS. I wanted to see if they were allowing people inside of the store to order drinks or if they were only allowing people to order thru the drive thru. Like a little kid, I got excited to see that we could go into the store to order. Since the pandemic started, I haven't been to Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts because both were only allowing drive thru orders and I don't have a vehicle of my own. I was just happy to be able to go in to finally order that I didn't care that we couldn't sit there to enjoy our drinks. Logan got his favorite of the Horizon chocolate milk. I wanted to get a refresher but they didn't have any whatsoever. So, instead of getting coffee, I ordered a passion tea lemonade with raspberry syrup. I was in heaven! I missed getting those kind of specialty drinks. Yes, I know I could possibly make my own at home and save a few bucks but it still doesn't taste the same when you buy it from the coffee shop. Logan shared my drink with me and from what I could tell, he enjoy it as well. Below is the drinks we ordered.
For dinner last night, we tried something different. On a recent run to the grocery store, I had noticed a Old De Paso tortilla kit. So, that's we had for dinner last night. I added green beans and corn for the sides and it was quite filling. There's still leftovers today.
That's the blog for today! I hope you enjoyed it!
