When I gave birth to my son, Logan, 13 years ago, I knew my journey of motherhood had just begun. When I first got to hold my Logan, I vowed to my son that everyday will be new day and that whatever struggles may come our way, we can always get through them, as mother and son. I had vowed to myself that regardless of what life had in store for us then and what it had in store for us still, I made the determination to make sure my son got to experience many different things that I didn't get to experience growing up. And so far, I think I succeed.
From seeing "Sesame Street Live" to being enrolled in dance classes, from the time he was an infant to well into 3 years old. Trips to the zoo and aquarium. To even attending a Michael Jackson impersonator concert. To attending his 1st WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) house show where Logan told me it was the best night of his life. To going to historic places such as Iolani Palace and the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites. To meeting new friends through YouTube and livestreaming. To attending STEAM events and more. I must say he had many wonderful experiences in his 13 years of life. I enjoy seeing him learn on our many adventures through not only visual but on hands learning.
We may have had our fair share of downs on our adventures of up but it prevented us from stopping on doing the adventures we enjoy doing. Even our mommy and son bonding days of going to the movies and spending the day out. I truly believe in having bonding time with my child. From going to the movies to back when he was younger, when it was simply reading stories together. I remember clearly the day I brought him home from the hospital after giving birth, reading stories to Logan.
We are living in much different times than we once were before. We are adjusting to a new normal and living in a new normal. Our state is pretty much reopened with, of course, restrictions. Since our state reopened, we've been to 2 of our malls more than once and we've been to the Pearl Harbor historic sites twice. Friday (8-1-2020), we visited the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum. Here is some pictures from our visit:
It has always been important to me to create memories with my son so that way, when he grows up, he has something to fall back on and say "I remember when..." That has always been one of the most important things to me. On top of having my son being able to come to me and talk to me about whatever his interests are or what is on his mind.
I hope you enjoyed this kind of blog. I will do more of this kind of posts in the future.
Aloha,
Grace
